Section Editor

As a Section Editor, you will play a crucial role in shaping the content and direction of our publication, focusing on engaging young readers in political discourse, activism, and civic participation. You will be responsible for editing and scheduling for release articles submitted by contributing writers, as well as making sure that your section hits a predefined quota of new articles each week. 

Responsibilities:

  • Curate, develop, and edit content for a designated section.
  • Collaborate on editorial calendars, themes, and special issues.
  • Recruit, manage, and mentor a team of writers.
  • Stay informed about current political events and youth perspectives.
  • Ensure accuracy, credibility, and adherence to editorial standards.
  • Foster reader engagement and community initiatives.
  • Contribute to digital strategy and audience growth.
  • Collaborate with editorial team, designers, and contributors.

Social Media Team Lead

As the Social Media Team Lead, you’ll spearhead our efforts to engage and mobilize our audience across various social media platforms. Your role is to develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy, oversee content creation and distribution, and lead a team of social media coordinators to drive engagement, increase followership, and amplify our brand presence in the digital space.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic social media plan.
  • Create compelling and shareable content for social media platforms.
  • Monitor social media trends, conversations, and metrics to identify opportunities for growth, optimize performance, and inform content decisions.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including editorial, marketing, and events.
  • Stay updated on best practices, emerging trends, and platform updates in social media marketing and incorporate them into our strategy.

Director, The Youth Insight TV

As the Director of The Youth Insight TV, you’ll play a pivotal role in pioneering the integration of video content into our publication. This innovative project aims to enhance our engagement with young audiences by delivering dynamic and compelling video content on political issues and youth perspectives. You’ll be tasked with leading the development of content for TYI TV, overseeing all aspects of its creation, and guiding a dedicated team to effectively manage the platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy for The Youth Insight TV.
  • Lead the conceptualization, planning, and production of video content.
  • Ensure alignment of video content with the magazine’s editorial voice and quality standards.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including content scheduling and budgeting.
  • Lead and mentor a team of producers, editors, hosts, and videographers.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and audience preferences.
  • Forge partnerships and collaborations to expand reach and impact.
  • Monitor performance metrics and make data-driven adjustments.
